Gerry Friesen

Gerry is a Chartered Professional Accountant, Chartered Accountant (CPA, CA) with experience in public practice as well as executive experience in the construction, transportation and forest products industries. He has also lectured in accounting at Douglas College as well as serving on educational committees at the college and in the accounting profession. He has a BA degree in Mathematics from Fresno Pacific, a Mennonite university in California. Most of his career was with Interfor Corporation, a North American forest products company where he held a number of senior positions including Corporate Secretary and Chief Financial Officer.

Throughout his career, Gerry has also been active in church work, serving as treasurer and board member in several Mennonite churches including two that were church plants.

In his retirement, Gerry has kept in touch with the financial community by serving on several pension and benefit boards in the waterfront Industry. As a member of the MCC Legacy Trust board, he has made contributions in the areas of corporate governance and financial oversight. He also represents the Legacy Trust board on the management committees of the Elk Creek and Prowest Joint Ventures engaged in land development and home construction in Chilliwack, BC.
