I have been the Executive Director of MCC British Columbia since 2007 and have served with MCC in various roles since 1996 including Program Director and Human Resource Director. In the mid 1990’s I lived with my family in Nicaragua serving with Mennonite Economic Development Associates (MEDA) as an advisor to programs that support the development of rural communities and small family enterprises as a means to alleviate poverty. In the late 1980’s I served as the Director of Development & Communications for Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) Canada. My work with international relief and development has taken me to about 25 countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East.
My family came as refugees to Canada from Russia in 1902 and 1924, settling on the prairies and eventually moving to various parts of Canada including Vancouver where I was born. I studied Business Administration at Trinity Western University and International Development at the University of Toronto. My home church is Highland Community MB in Abbotsford. Diane and I have been married for 37 years and we have two adult children, Sara and Jonathan.
